Thank you so much for the amazing tour yesterday in the fashion district. The buildings I walk by everyday now have so many stories behind. Your guide is truly fantastic for showing the historical pictures to me by painting a timeline on the physical buildings and streets.
I really love your tour, and probably would try more in the future. You seemed to have caught a little cold yesterday. I wish you get better soon!
All the best wishes,

Happy Friday, Mike!
Thanks for your patience in getting my reply. After leaving you in Midtown, I was literally non-stop until I got on a plane yesterday afternoon.
Nonetheless, I wanted to express my sincerest thanks for Wednesday’s Garment District Tour. It was FANTASTIC!! It is beyond obvious to me that you live/love New York City, and your passion is all about sharing NYC with others.
Your knowledge of and reverence for the Garment District is remarkable. From your (and your grandmother’s) past experiences to your present industry access, my students and I gained a profoundly clear and enlightening perspective of the fashion (or in your words “schmatta” ; ) business over the past 100+ years.
I cannot wait to read my students’ assignments as they recap their experiences at the cutting factory, sales showroom, outdoor landmarks and, of course… our Donna Karan sighting!!!! WOW!!! Trust that you MADE THEIR DAY and as a dedicated professor… mine as well ; ) Thank you again for having such a big heart for this amazing city and industry.
I will absolutely share your tours with my colleagues and administrators. I see it as a mandatory student experience. All the best to you, Mike.

I am writing to express my gratitude to you for the very informative and educational tour that you conducted about New York’s fashion center for Stevenson University’s fashion design and merchandising students. It was a pleasure to meet your grandmother through your eyes and to trace the valuable contributions that she and the other immigrants made to the birth and the proliferation of New York’s renowned garment industry. The side activities such as the fashion walk, fashion hall of fame, tour of the factory, showrooms, sample sales, and the steam coming from a few of the buildings, added to the charm of the activity.
Judging from the pictures the students posted on Facebook, Instagrams, and tweets, the tour was the highlight of their day.
Best Wishes for a grand holiday season.
Dear Mike… We are home on our wee island after 9 full days in New York City.....We were invited to lunch at the Boathouse in Central Park by Dr. Spock’s widow Mary Morgan, we saw an incredible performance at the Lincoln Center, we were thrilled with the Cindy Sherman exhibit at the MOMA. The Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens was so very beautiful. We loved the City, the warmth of everyone and of course the food....Mostly though, we loved your tour of the Garment District Mike...even Leo has said that it was the highlight of our trip and that’s something coming from a man that doesn’t give a hoot about fashion....You are awesome and so informative and I will insist that anyone I know going to NYC take your tour. I am grateful, thank you beyond the beyond for such a wonderful experience.....

The tour was great! Yes, we first went and dined on matzo ball soup as you had recommended at Ben’s. It was delicious. After, we resumed our shopping. The girls each bought something at the sample sale you had introduced us. The ladies were happy to have us back. We finished the day in Soho. It was a pleasant trip. Thank you for being a part of it. I learned much history about the Garment District and Fashion industry. It was also nice that you personalized the tour using your grandmothers/family’s history. I would recommend our tour.

re: New York City Fashion District History Walking tour
We had a wonderful trip. We arrived in Montreal late last night, and are enjoying a day of rest before going back to school tomorrow.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with all of us. Although everyone was exhausted from a sleepless night on the bus, and the weather made things more difficult, you managed to keep us all interested by sharing your passion for the garment district and it’s history with us.
Here is the picture we took together. As we say, a picture is woth a thousand words. Just look at the snow blowing sideways, and our tired faces, and you will understand that it took a great communicator to keep us going for over two hours.
We will definitively include your tour in our suggested activities for upcoming trips.

Re: garment tour
We had the BEST day ever. Thank you so much. I have told everyone about you and said that if 10 is perfect, you were 20!!! I look forward to our next tour with you.

You were excellent. The only way I can prove that to you is that you should expect at least one, possibly more people from our group to be signing up for your tours in the coming weeks.
Two things stand out to me regarding your presentation:
1)You provided clear and abundant information - in other words, you are definitely the expert on the garment district - you have great analytical skills (I loved listening to you talk about zoning changes and its effect on the shape of buildings in the area) and your comprehensive understanding of the legacy of the garment trade in the vicinity.
2)You hit all the points that were the theme of the weekend - many of the speakers did, but you were succinct in addressing what the area was and how it is changing due to increasing financial pressures of incrasing real estate values. In a rediculously short period of time, you gave us exactly what we were looking for.
I was thinking of writing Barbara to thank her for connecting me with you, but I may call her instead to [emotively] express what a treat it was to have you as part of our weekend and to recommend you to any group like ours who find the Garment Industry such a fascinating place.
Again, thank you for your time with us,

The tour you gave today of the Garment District was great. I appreciate the extra effort you made to make it special for us… The trip factory, the cutting floor, the sample sale. You made the garment district “real” for me.
Thank you for everything. You have a wonderful talent for connecting with people.

Some of the students commented that it was the best trip that they have gone on. All enjoyed the trip, including my colleague and I. It was a great learning experience for all.
Thank you and I hope to book another trip with you in the future.
